Kia ora koutou ngā whānau o te kura o Tītahi Bay, I am the very proud and passionate tumuaki of our amazing kura. My whānau love living in The Bay and having the most beautiful walks, bike rides and beach all within an arm’s reach is a taonga we are grateful for. I feel incredibly privileged to lead a group of exceptional kaiako and support staff at our kura. I am passionate about our school being a safe, inclusive, engaging, fun and active place for our ākonga to thrive in which emanates in them loving being at school.
Mā te huruhuru ka rere te manu – Adorn the bird with feathers so it may soar.

Tēnā koutou katoa,
Ko Nadia tōku ingoa. He uri tēnei nō Ngāti Maniapoto me Ngāti Tūwharetoa. Ko Te Huia te whānau. I tipu ake au ki Porirua ā e noho ana au ki Tītahi Bay. Ko Hayden tōku hoa rangatira. Ko Carter rātou ko Anahera, Ko Amaia-Grace ā māua tamariki.
A mum of three, a lot of my time is spent running around after my own tamariki and enjoying time with whānau and friends. I feel very blessed to be working in the community that I live in and with the beautiful kaimahi at Tītahi Bay kura. I became a kaiako because I am passionate about our tamariki and whānau. My heart is to see every child that we work with, grow with a security in who they are, knowing that they are worthy, and to be encouraged to take hold of the amazing things that the future holds for them.

What is the school Board, and what do we do?

Every state and state-integrated school and kura in New Zealand has a school Board that governs it.

The Board is a Crown entity. A Crown entity is an organisation that is part of New Zealand’s public sector.

The board’s job is to see that everything that needs to be done gets done – legally, ethically, and as well as possible in the best interests of its students.

It is also the employer of all staff, including the principal, and sets the overall strategic direction for the school or kura. The principal is the board’s ‘chief executive’ and manages the school or kura in line with the board’s direction and policies.

To learn more about what the Board do, check out the Ministry of Education information.
