How does a KURA Kid behave in different parts of the our school?
Library
- Handle resources carefully
- Keep shoes tidy
- Choose appropriate books
Toilets
- Wash hands and flush toilet
- Allow privacy for others
- Keep clean and tidy
Office
- Wait patiently for your turn
- Use names and speak clearly
- Move efficiently between class and the office
Eating
- Sit down to eat
- Put rubbish in the appropriate bins
- Put lunch boxes back in the correct place
Staffroom
- Understand teacher ‘down time’
- Use a quiet voice and walk
- Only come into the staffroom after seeing the Duty Teacher or a Buddy Patrol
Lunch Order Room
- Line up nicely
- Use manners
- Order lunch at the appropriate time – before the bell goes
Walkways / Corridors
- Always walk
- Keep walkways tidy
- Be mindful of other classes working
Playground, Field, Courts
- Help others who are hurt or sad
- Include others in games
- Care for our grounds (the forts, school property, seats, sports equipment, gardens)
Hall (sports/games)
- Show patience towards others
- Enter and exit carefully
- Care for the environment (art on walls, stage)
Assembly
- Listen to the speaker and eyes on speaker
- Clap appropriately when celebrating the success of others
- Be proud when receiving praise and certificates
Te Manawa
- Include others
- Take turns
- Look after the equipment
Education Outside the Classroom / School trips
